Melbourne’s Risk Studios have installed Genelec 8040A Studio Monitors into their newly refurbished studio in Port Melbourne. Paul McCosh, Sound Engineer of Risk Studio’s states:
"For me there was only one choice, the Genelec 8040A. I have used the Mackie HR 824 and the Dynaudio range, but nothing comes close to the Genelec series for warmth and clarity in your mix. I can work for hours with them and not suffer fatigue. I also find them to be a more intelligent speaker, Genelec have thought long and hard about this design even down to the rubber feet for support"

Drawmer have released the new Drawmer 1968 Mercenary Edition. The 1968 is an IU Tube/FET stereo bus compressor, which by design delivers a transparent “open” sound, even during periods of heavy compression. Featured on both channels is a “BIG” mode which applies less processing to the fundamental low frequency, but still disciplines the upward associated harmonies which, if untamed, can result in a “Boomy” or “Boxy” sound. The end result is a solid bottom end, with enhanced sub-bass and a smoother, wider frequency response overall.
